The Backstory

I loved taking a deep dive into the seminary experience, which was such a meaningful part of my own life and has been such an integral part of our communal culture for two generations already. But there’s so much more to the experience than just the girls themselves. My goal when I set out to write this story, which was serialized in Family First, was to explore the experience not just from the eyes of a student but also from the more mature perspective of the staff – an older teacher, who’s been there for several decades, and a young, fresh and idealistic Eim Bayit.
