Searching for Heather Dean: My Extraordinary Career as a Celebrity Interviewer and Why I Left It

My book details my extraordinary career as a Manhattan-based celebrity-interviewer for such international TV networks as MTV, E! Entertainment Television, and Associated Press (AP) Radio Network. I also appeared on camera to comment on breaking news in the entertainment business. And then one day I walked away this glamourous career. If you’re asking what could be better than interviewing famous entertainers every day with the amazing perks, trips, and celebrity friends, read my book and find out! PLUS, there are plenty of insights I draw from A-list celebrity encounters, and I bust a bunch of Hollywood myths one by one.

The Backstory

It was on one of those milestone birthdays when I realized that my baalas teshuva story is unlike any I had heard before. So I had to tell it! I had to tell anyone who is obsessed with show business and pop culture what really goes on in the entertainment world, and why I chose a life upgrade to authentic Jewish living and Torah-centered values. I know full well the lure of the entertainment industry and why people can fall into the trap of celebrity worship. I was plucked out of suburban Ohio to live a dream-come-true existence in Manhattan as a broadcaster and journalist covering every aspect of show business. I had a bunch of famous friends. A musician I knew wrote a song called “Searching for Heather Dean.” (Snazzy title for a book, eh?) Indeed, a baalas teshuva story unlike any I had heard before. My journey to discovering the religion I was born into – Judaism – could only have happened the way Hashem orchestrated it: through revealing emes, through community, and through bringing me to Eretz Yisrael. Talk about a page-turner! Dozens of happy readers tell me that they read my memoir, “Searching for Heather Dean,” over Shabbat or the week-end, that they just couldn’t put it down! I hope you enjoy it, too.
